RAYVOSS STRIKESORB SURGE PROTECTORS

Raycap

Rayvoss – The Next Generation Surge Protection Technology by RayCap, who are the leaders in global manufacturing and suppliers of electrical surge protection kit.

Rayvoss

Raycap has a comprehensive surge protection product range that includes surge arresters and metal oxide varistors (MOVs) as well as classic gas discharge tubes (GDTs) and their proprietary and patented Strikesorb® and Phase GDT technologies (PGDT). Their production is characterized by an exceptionally high level of vertical integration in their products and their core elements. This enables a high degree of supply availability and always guarantees their customers the best quality and reliability in procurement.

  • – Globally, widely used and deployed in the Telecoms and Data Centre (DC) industry to protect against lightning strikes

  • – Devices require no maintenance, mainly due to them not using fuses

  • – They use a different wiring system, that requires no fuses and can be installed in line with the existing electrical setup

The unique patented design of the Strikesorb® provides uninterrupted protection from damage caused by electrical surges or direct lightning strikes. Strikesorb’s maintenance free design absorbs and dissipates the excess energy of successive surges without performance deterioration, successfully preventing electrical surges or lightning strikes from damaging mission-critical equipment in telecommunications, power generation, defense, transportation and other industrial applications

Strikesorb Models

Strikesorb is the protection module used in Rayvoss TVSS systems. It is offered in two types according to its surge current capacity:

  • Strikesorb 80, rated at 200kA
  • Strikesorb 40, rated at 140kA

The Strikesorb 80 is used in locations that are exposed to high intensity surges or in locations with critical equipment. The Strikesorb 40 is ideal for the protection of equipment in urban and rural locations inside street cabinets or integrated solutions.

Strikesorb 80

Strikesorb® 80 industrial surge suppression is a versatile SPD, with a Class rating per IEC 61643-11. It offers unparalleled lightning protection, protecting mission-critical applications from damage caused by lightning surges and other electrical surge events. Even in the most lightning-prone environments, Strikesorb 80 is capable of absorbing and dissipating the extreme energy of lightning strikes without degradation to the module.

Strikesorb 40

Strikesorb® 40 industrial surge suppression is a versatile SPD, with a Class rating per IEC 61643-11. It offers unparalleled lightning protection, protecting mission-critical applications from damage caused by lightning surges and other electrical surge events. Even in the most lightning-prone environments, Strikesorb 40 is capable of absorbing and dissipating the extreme energy of lightning strikes without degradation to the module.

Special Models

Special models and customized solutions to meet specific customer requirements are available. Surge protection modules have been successfully integrated inside power panels, variable speed drives, telecom street cabinets etc.

Enhanced Safety and Maintenance-free Operation Because Strikesorb technology is robust and designed to operate without weak dedicated internal fusing, it offers a lifetime of maintenance-free performance, resulting in significant operational cost savings to customers.

Strikesorb is the only UL 1449 4th Edition overvoltage protection module recognized to operate without an internal fuse or thermal disconnection mechanism. Due to its “inline” installation capability –Strikesorb and Rayvoss SPDs will work to keep protected loads safe, even under catastrophic conditions such as long duration surges, open neutrals, or high intensity lightning strikes.

Rayvoss SPDs deploy Strikesorb protection modules in a variety of configurations and operating voltages to provide the electrical protection required, whatever the installation type including the following:

  • – Single Phase, Split Phase, Three Phase Wye, and Delta configurations
  • – 120, 240, 120/208Y, 220/380Y, 277/480Y, 347/600Y, 240D, 480D operating voltages
  • – Integration inside larger systems as well as power panels
